A man of many talents, Ken Raessler lives and works in Skowhegan, ME, a small community having a strong tie to artists, crafters and other makersresiding in mid-central Maine. As a "hobbyist” woodworker most of his life, Ken began turning bowls like many others in the basement of his home. While maintaining a career and raising a family, designing in wood continued and was often the source gifts on family occasions. Today, he has opened a workshop in the center of downtown Skowhegan, is using and experimenting with a variety of domestic and foreign hardwoods and devoting his attention to creating intriguing bowls and one of a kind wooden and acrylic pens. His next project is to design and produce artisan-style wooden boxes and chests for the purpose of holding those special “memories”.
